Antonio Marras - WOMENSWEAR collection Autumn-Winter 2016/17 in Milan (with interview)

Designer : Antonio MarrasDecor : a podium with very rustic old baths ! The live musical performance consisted of vibrations from instruments.Inspiration : the film Adele H. directed by Francois Truffaut, interpreted by Isabelle Adjani. Antonio Marras transposed the story of this heroine in Sardinia where the beauty of the scenery inspired him.Focus : on the first black and grey transition illustrating the sadness and the insanity of Adèle, then throughout the collection, the lighting, the embroidery, the ruched, the creased and the floral patterns taking over the clothes, romantic dresses, parkas or over coats. We equally appreciate the fluidity and simplicity of the pyjama ensemble. A mysterious and poetic mix match of prints and fabrics that the designer reinterprets with such skill every season. To note : the romantic hair decorations, with a mix of feathers and sequin flowers and masculine mocassins more strictly worn with knee length fishnets.Interview :Antonio Marras : There is a very romantic and very french side because I am part of a film that I loved, Adèle H, the story of Victor Hugo’s daughter with Isabelle Adjani and directed by Francois Truffaut. I fell in love with this film and said to myself after having rewatched it six months ago : that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to pay hommage to the madness. I have changed a few scenes from the film : It isn’t a caribbean island, but it’s in Sardinia. It starts in black, it starts in grey, it starts with things that are very harsh but at the end, it becomes madly unbelievable, she starts to dress with things that she finds like that. We have really mixed the patterns, mixed the furs, mixed the things and the details. We found little feathers, little flowers, it starts like that. The collection changes at the end because it’s madness. I think that the madness currently, is the only thing that can really change this atmosphere.Music of the show, (donot reuse for more than 7 days after the show)
